The Great Society 2.0 (GS2)
Endeavours to assert the core values of the 1965 Great Society to drive truth in our politics, objectivity in our media, tolerance in academia, civility in our daily discourse, respect for our institutions and above all care for our fellow man. The most mammoth of challenge is how would we do that …
Its beginning - 1965…
President Lyndon B. Johnson launched a series of domestic programs in 1965 designed to eliminate poverty, tackle social injustice, improve education, health care, and address the serious urban problems that were plaguing the United States. The program was a continuation of the work John F. Kennedy started earlier that decade. Unfortunately the program fell short. 50 years later, funding ever expanding, these societal issues not only persist but are eroding the very fabric of our society. We are here to foster the principles and values that were the foundation of the "Great Society"; truth, compassion, understanding, integrity and humanity.
Today…
We are an organization that asserts the principles of a moral, caring and just society. We advocate for truth, responsibility, objectivity, tolerance, compassion and humanity.
Our Foundation - The 5 Principles
1. Protect the Sanctity of Life for all human beings, born or unborn, are people that have value and need to be safeguarded
2. Defend our Liberty that allows us to live, worship, speak, act and think freely and without penalty or control
3. Aspire for Truth in ourselves, our leaders and our politicians
4. Champion Tolerance, fairness and objectivity in our discourse, our politics, our media and academia
5. Serve Humanity and act with compassion, understanding, generosity and love
Our Mission
Our mission is to inform, equip and mobilize individuals to reshape and reconstruct our failing institutions. To build awareness and challenge conventional thinking objectively. To expand our minds and learn through reasoned discourse. Aligning on key principles, we must start with civility and truth in our public discourse, our politics, our media and academia. Leveraging the 5 rules as a foundation, we will build a stronger and more caring society utilizing the tenets of life, liberty, truth, tolerance and humanity as our guide.
